One whose heart abides in the Society of the Saints, O Nanak, does not wander around in doubt. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One who dissolves fear and eases every ache and sorrow — hold that One in your heart.

Nanak says: the heart where the Sangat dwells no longer wanders lost in doubt. When your heart has a home, it stops second-guessing itself.

Hold in your heart the One who dissolves fear and eases sorrow — and let the Sangat be the home where your heart stops wandering.
The deeper layer

Hold in your mind the One who dissolves fear, and let the Sangat be your heart's home.

The One is bhai bhanjan (dissolver of fear) and agh dookh naas (eraser of ache and sorrow) — to be araadh, held, in the mind. Satsang jih rid basi-o — whoever's heart the Sangat dwells in — tay na bharamay, does not wander in doubt. Pure comfort. The "Bhabha" Pauri follows, on doubt itself.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you most when fear or worry starts to take over — and where do you feel most "at home" inside?
