In plain words

Some never let the One slip from mind, not with a single breath, not with a single bite of food. Their thoughts are woven through with the Name.

They are the truly blessed ones. Theirs is a whole and complete heart.

A whole heart is one that keeps the One present through the most ordinary moments — every breath, every bite.
The deeper layer

A whole heart keeps the One close through the most ordinary moments: every breath, every bite.

This shalok, a short verse, describes a saint not by titles or special robes but by steady attention. Jinaa saas giraas na visrai — those who do not forget, with each breath and each mouthful. Breathing and eating are the two most constant, automatic things a body does. To keep the One present even through those is to keep the One present through everything.

The word pooran is the highest praise here: pooran so-ee sant, they are the complete saints. Pooran means complete, whole, filled full. It does not mean flawless. It means nothing is missing, like a phone charged all the way instead of running on empty.

It is a picture of steadiness so ordinary that it disappears into daily life. And that is exactly the point.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you do so constantly you never think about it — like breathing? What would it mean to weave a little awareness into it?
