A Heart at Peace With the End Stops Dying Daily

ਅਬ ਕੈਸੇ ਮਰਉ ਮਰਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
ab kaisay mara-o maran man maani-aa.
Now, how shall I die? My mind has already accepted death.
ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਤੇ ਜਿਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mar mar jaatay jin raam na jaani-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Those who do not know the Lord, die over and over again, and then depart. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

So now, how could the ending frighten me? My heart has already made peace with it. It is those who never come to know the Beloved who feel like they are dying again and again.

A heart at peace with the ending stops dying a little every day.
The deeper layer

The Rahao. Maran man maaniaa — the mind has accepted / made peace with the ending. Kabir contrasts this with "dying over and over" — which we read not as literal reincarnation-terror but as the exhausting, repeated fear and small deaths of a heart that never finds its rest. Peace with the ending ends that cycle.

A Question to Sit With

What feels lighter when you stop being afraid of it?
