Verse 3 of 4

The One Who Carries the World Holds You Too

ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਹਿ ਭਾਰ ॥
teen lok jaa kai heh bhaar.
He bears the burden of the three worlds;
ਸੋ ਕਾਹੇ ਨ ਕਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰ ॥੨॥
so kaahay na karai partipaar. ||2||
why should He not cherish you also? ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One carries the weight of the whole world — every world there is. So why would that same One not also care for you?

The One who carries the whole world surely holds you, too.
The deeper layer

The One who carries the whole world surely holds you too.

This is a warm comfort, asked as a question. Teen lok jaa kai heh bhaar — the One carries the weight of the three worlds. The "three worlds" means everything there is: sky, earth and all below.

So kaahay na karai partipaar — why would that same One not care for you too?

Think of a parent carrying heavy shopping bags in both arms. They still have room to take your hand. The One who holds everything holds you.

A Question to Sit With

When you feel small, what helps you remember you are still cared for?
