Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Through grace, souls like Jai Dev and Naam Dev came to understand this —

and they understood it through pure, loving devotion.

The mind's secret opens through love and grace, not cleverness.
The deeper layer

Kabir names two devotees who did find the mind's secret, and he says how: through grace and love.

Gur parsaadee jaiday-o naamaa — by gur parsaad, the Guru's grace, Jaidev and Namdev came to know it. They were two beloved devotee-poets. Bhagat kai paraym in hee hai jaanaa — they knew it through bhagat, devotion, and paraym, love.

So the way into the mystery is not a clever trick. It is the heart, not only the thinking mind. Think of how you know your grandmother. You don't study her. You love her, and so you know her.

A Question to Sit With

When have you understood something deeply through love rather than by figuring it out?
