Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
There is one single Life, and it fills every body that lives.
On this Mind — this one shared aliveness — Kabir rests his whole attention.
Kabir ends by saying there is one Life, and it fills every body.
Jee-o ayk ar sagal sareeraa — there is one jee-o, one soul or life, and it is in all bodies. Is man ka-o rav rahay kabeeraa — Kabir rests his whole attention on this Mind.
Put the two lines side by side, and they point toward oneness. Think of one electric current lighting every lamp on a street. The lamps are many. The power is one. The verse stops just short of saying that the "mind" Kabir has been hunting simply is that one Life. It leaves that last step for you to wonder about.
What would change if you really felt the same aliveness in you was in everyone?
