Finding the One Is the One's Own Doing

itnay janam bhool paray say jaa paa-i-aa taa bhoolay naahee.
In countless incarnations, I went astray. Now that I have found You, I shall no longer wander.
jaa kaa kaaraj so-ee par jaanai jay gur kai sabad samaahee. ||3||
It is His work; those who are absorbed in the Word of the Guru's Shabad come to know it well. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Through countless lives I lost my way; now that I have found you, I will not wander anymore. This is your doing -- and those who melt into the Word know it well.

After all the wandering, finding the One is the One's own doing.
The deeper layer

The turn after long wandering (cf. the transmigration confession elsewhere): finding You ends the wandering. And crucially, the finding is His work -- grace, not the soul's achievement, known only by those absorbed in the Shabad.

A Question to Sit With

Has something you searched for a long time finally felt like it found you?
