I have earned the profit, the wealth of devotional worship of the Lord. I have become pleasing to the Mind of the Lord, the True Banker.

I chant and meditate on the Lord, loading the merchandise of the Lord's Name. The Messenger of Death, the tax collector, does not even approach me. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I have earned the profit of devotion and become pleasing to the great banker. Keeping the One in mind, I load up my cart with its Name -- and death's tax-collector does not even come near me.
Load your life with the Name, and even death's collector stays away.
The trade pays off: profit in devotion makes one pleasing to the Banker; the soul loads the merchandise of the Name, and Death's messenger -- here a tax collector -- does not approach (cf. the deathless witness). The Name is a cargo death cannot tax.
A Question to Sit With
What would you want to have "stored up" that nothing could take from you?
