Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My mind is tuned to love for the One. Joining the true gathering, I have found its sweetness, and I melt into the Name.

Tuned to love and placed in true company, the soul finds the One's sweetness.
The deeper layer

Love tunes the mind, and good company is where the sweetness is found.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. Raam mayraa man har saytee raatay — O One, my mind is colored with love for You. Love is what tunes it, like tuning a guitar string until it sings true.

Satsangat mil raam ras paa-i-aa — joining the satsangat, the true gathering, I found raam ras, the sweet taste of the One. Har raamai naam samaatay — and I melt into the Name.

The company is the way there. The sweetness is the fruit. Melting into the Name comes after.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you find both love and good company together?
