He Houses the Homeless and Honors the Overlooked

ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
jin dee-aa nithaavay ka-o thaan.
He has given a home to the homeless;
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
jin dee-aa nimaanay ka-o maan.
He has given honor to the dishonored.
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥

He has fulfilled all desires;

simra-o din rain saas giraasaa. ||3||
remember Him in meditation, day and night, with every breath and every morsel of food. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One gives a home to the homeless, honor to those who had none, and fills every need. So remember it day and night, with every breath and every bite of food.

The One houses the homeless and honors the overlooked -- so remember it with every breath.
The deeper layer

The One as the lifter of the homeless and dishonored and the fulfiller of desires. The response is remembrance woven into life itself -- every breath and morsel (cf. the One as breath). Devotion is not separate from living; it is breathing and eating done in remembrance.

A Question to Sit With

How might remembrance be woven into ordinary acts like eating and breathing?
