Right Living Is Moving With the Flow, Not a Checklist

ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
jo tuDh bhaavai so nirmal karmaa.
Whatever pleases You is a pure action of karma.
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਧਰਮਾ ॥
jo tuDh bhaavai so sach Dharmaa.
Whatever pleases You is the true faith of Dharma.
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੁਣ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
sarab niDhaan gun tum hee paas.
The treasure of all excellence is with You.
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
tooN saahib sayvak ardaas. ||3||
Your servant prays to You, O Lord and Master. ||3||

In plain words

Whatever aligns with that flow is a clean and good act; whatever aligns with it is truly living rightly.

Every treasure, every good quality, is already held by You. So Your servant simply asks — that's the whole prayer.

Right living isn't a checklist you complete — it's moving with the flow of things.
The deeper layer

Living rightly means moving with the One's flow, not ticking boxes on a checklist.

Jo tudh bhaavai so nirmal karmaa — whatever pleases You is a pure action. Karma here means action, what we do. Jo tudh bhaavai so sach dharmaa — whatever pleases You is true dharma, right living.

So right action gets a new meaning. It is not a checklist we finish. It is lining up with Hukam, the flow of existence. Think of a musician in an orchestra. Playing well is not only hitting the right notes. It is playing together with everyone, following the conductor.

Sarab nidhaan gun tum hee paas — every treasure and every good quality is already with the One. So the servant's whole stance is ardaas, a humble asking, a prayer. Goodness is joining in with the flow. It is not a private trophy.

A Question to Sit With

What does it mean to do the right thing because it fits, not because you'll be rewarded?
