In plain words

Held in the One's love, mind and body come clean and clear. Every comfort is found in the company of true-hearted people.

My mind stays soaked in Your Name, the way a cloth holds its color. And this — just this — I've come to know as the deepest happiness there is.

A mind soaked in love holds its color the way dyed cloth holds its dye.
The deeper layer

A mind soaked in the One's love holds its color, the way dyed cloth does.

Man tan nirmal ho-ay har rang — mind and body become pure through the One's love. Rang means love, and also color, like the color of a dye. Sarab sukhaa paava-o satsang — I find every peace in the satsang, the company of true-hearted people.

Naam tayrai rahai man raataa — my mind stays dyed in Your Name. Think of a white T-shirt dipped into a bucket of bright dye. Once the color soaks all the way in, it does not wash out. Gurbani loves this picture: love that soaks through and through.

Ih kali-aan naanak kar jaataa — Nanak knows this as kali-aan: well-being, the greatest good there is.

A Question to Sit With

What's something you love so much that it has "colored" the way you see everything?
