In plain words

Soaked in the love of the One, mind and body turn green again — fresh, alive, like a plant after rain.

This happens by resting in the shelter of the whole teaching, letting it hold you.

Love soaks in like rain and turns a tired heart green again.
The deeper layer

This is the center of the shabad: love for the One makes a tired heart fresh and green again.

This line is the Rahao, the "pause" line, the center the shabad turns around. Har sang raatay man tan haray — dyed in the One's love, mind and body become haray, green again.

Picture a wilted plant on a hot windowsill. You water it, and by evening it stands up green. Love works like that water.

Gur pooray kee sarnee paray — this happens by entering the sarnee, the shelter, of the complete teaching. The new life comes from taking shelter and being held. It does not come from forcing yourself to bloom.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt worn-out and then, somehow, refreshed and alive again?
