In plain words

In that most special inner place, a music plays that no one strikes and no one stops. The melody is so lovely that even the One who holds the whole world is enchanted by it.

Deep inside is a music no one strikes and no one stops — so lovely it delights even the One who holds the world.
The deeper layer

Inside you is a music that no one plays and no one can stop.

Anhat banee is the unstruck sound, a much-loved picture in Gurbani. It is music that no instrument makes. No hand strikes it, and nothing makes it stop. Thaan niraalaa — it sounds in a completely special place within.

Think of a song playing softly in your head even when no speaker is on. This music is like that, except it never fades.

The most beautiful part is taa kee dhun mohay gopaalaa. Gopaal, the One who cares for the whole world, is enchanted by this melody. What delights the One is the music itself, sounding in that deepest place. This is sahaj, natural peace, heard as music.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever heard or felt a stillness so beautiful it seemed like a kind of quiet music?
