Through the Naam, I have become fearless.
ਨਾਮੇ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਵਨ ਰਹੇ ॥

Through the Naam, my comings and goings have ceased.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥

The Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord, the treasure of virtue.

In plain words

Through the Name I have grown fearless, and my restless coming and going has come to rest.

The perfect teaching joined me to the One, the treasure of all goodness — and now I live in a quiet, natural peace.

A heart resting in the Name grows fearless and settles into a natural peace.
The deeper layer

The shabad closes on nirbha-o — fearless — the fruit of a heart resting in the Name. Aavan jaavan rahay — the restlessness settles. Meeting guntaas (the treasure of virtue) through poorai gur leads to sukh sahj nivaas — a home in sahaj, the natural ease of a soul that has stopped fighting its own nature.

A Question to Sit With

What helps your restlessness settle into calm?
