The Treasure Of Mercy Who Knows Every Heart

ਕੋਟਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
kot patit jaa kai sang uDhaar.
Millions of sinners are saved by associating with them.
ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰ ॥
ayk nirankaar jaa kai naam aDhaar.
They have the Support of the Name of the One Formless Lord.
ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆਂ ਕਾ ਜਾਨੈ ਭੇਉ ॥
sarab jee-aaN kaa jaanai bhay-o.
He knows the secrets of all beings;
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਦੇਉ ॥੩॥
kirpaa niDhaan niranjan day-o. ||3||
He is the treasure of mercy, the divine immaculate Lord. ||3||

In plain words

In such company, countless people are lifted and made whole, for they rest on the Name of the One.

The One knows the secret of every living being and is a very treasure of mercy — pure, and beyond all limit.

The One knows every secret in you and is still a treasure of mercy.
The deeper layer

The Guru says that good company lifts up countless people, because it rests on the One's Name.

Kot patit jaa kai sang udhaar — millions who had lost their way are lifted up in this company. Kot means millions. Udhaar means lifted and saved.

Why is this company so strong? Ayk nirankaar jaa kai naam adhaar — their support is the Name of the One Formless. Nirankaar means without shape. Adhaar means the thing you lean on.

The One jaanai bhay-o — knows the secret inside every living being. And the One is kirpaa nidhaan, a treasure chest of mercy.

Think of a grandparent who knows every silly thing you have ever done and still hugs you tight. The One knows us fully and loves us still.

A Question to Sit With

How does it feel to be fully known and still met with kindness?
