In plain words

O my mind, let the teacher's name turn in you — Guru, Guru, Guru.

I have no other, and I lean on the teacher's support day and night — a support so full that no one can take it away.

Lean on the teaching day and night — its gift is one no one can take away.
The deeper layer

The Guru tells his own mind to keep the Teacher close, day and night.

Guroo guroo gur kar man mor — O my mind, say "Guru, Guru, Guru." Saying the word three times makes a gentle beat, like a song you hum to yourself.

Guroo binaa mai naahee hor — I have no one else but the Guru. The Guru is the Teacher who shows the way to the One.

Gur kee tayk means the Guru's support. Tayk is something you lean on, like a strong wall at your back. The Guru leans on it din raat, day and night.

Jaa kee ko-ay na maytai daat — no one can erase the Guru's gift. It is like a kindness someone did for you long ago. No one can ever take that away.

A Question to Sit With

What is a source of support in your life that stays steady no matter what?
