Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Let all my dealings be with the One, the Name I keep close.
The Name is the support of my very breath; I sing its praise — for the One is everywhere, filling all of life.
Let your dealings rest on the One who is woven through all of life.
The repeated raam raam raam is simran made audible — the Name turning over and over as the ground of a whole life. Paraan adhaar — the support of the breath. And the reason it can be trusted so completely: ramat raam sabh rahi-o samaa-ee — the One is all-pervading, woven through everything. ('Raam' here is the all-pervading One of Gurbani, present in all, not one legendary figure.)
