In plain words

Deep inside a person, the One already lives.

And in that heart a quiet light begins to shine.

So with love, let us sing together of the One,

for holding the Name in mind lifts us home.

The light you are looking for is already lit inside you.
The deeper layer

The Guru says the One already lives inside you, and a light shines there.

Jaa kai antar vasai prabh aap — the One lives deep within. We do not have to bring the One in from outside. It is like looking everywhere for your glasses and finding them on your head.

Pargaas means light. It shines once we notice who is already there.

Bhagat bhaa-ay har keertan karee-ai — with love, let us sing the One's praise. Keertan is singing about the One, usually together with others.

Nistaree-ai means being carried to the far shore. The song began with being carried across the river. Now it ends on the other side, safe and home.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you trusted that something good already lives inside you?
