Whoever tells me the Stories of my Beloved Lord is my Sibling of Destiny, and my friend. ||2||

In plain words

Whoever tells me stories of my Beloved One is my brother and my friend.

Anyone who shares your love of the One becomes family.
The deeper layer

Guru Ram Das says that anyone who shares his love for the One becomes family.

Mayray har pareetam kee ko-ee baat sunaavai — whoever tells me something about my Beloved. So bhaa-ee so mayraa beer — that person is my brother, my friend. Pareetam means beloved.

Longing turns the heart outward. It makes family of anyone who shares the same love. Think of meeting a stranger who loves the same book as you. Within minutes you are talking like old friends. This is how sangat, the company of people who love the One, is born. It doesn't come from being born into the same group. It comes from facing the One together.

A Question to Sit With
