In plain words

Know that there is one — only one.

Facing the teaching, know that it is One.

'Know that there is one — only one' is the whole teaching in a seed: a single reality behind all appearances.
The deeper layer

This Sixth House shabad opens with the raag's most concentrated statement of Ik — oneness: "Know that there is One and only One Lord." Everything in the raag flows from this. Not one god among options, not one to be chosen over others, but only one — the single reality behind all appearances. To know this, truly, is the whole teaching in a seed.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you truly knew, not just believed, that there is one reality behind everything?
