In plain words

May the true teaching be kind to you, and may you come to love the company of good people.

Let the One's keeping of your honor be your clothing, and the singing of praise be your food.

Real dignity isn't what you wear but Whose you are; real nourishment is gratitude, not just bread.
The deeper layer

Real worth is not in your clothes. It is in whose you are.

The mother's blessing goes on. She prays that the true Guru will be kind to her child. She prays the child will love the satsang, the company of good people.

Then she dresses and feeds her child in a deeper way. Kaaparh pat parmaysar raakhee — let the One's keeping of your honor be your clothes. Real dignity is not the brand on your hoodie. It is knowing whose you are. Bhojan keertan neet — let singing the One's praise be your daily food. Real nourishment is thankfulness, not just bread.

Clothes and food are the two most basic needs. Here both are quietly moved into the sacred. A blessed life is dressed in belonging and fed on praise.

A Question to Sit With

What 'clothes' you with worth and what truly 'feeds' you, beyond fabric and food?
