The Perfect Guru has given me the Name of the Lord, which my soul has come to treasure. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

Every other greed of the grasping heart turns out to be hollow.

The perfect teaching gave me the One's name, and my soul has taken it in as its treasure.

Every grasping greed is hollow but one treasure — and naming that one is really a lesson about how to live.
The deeper layer

The Pause line is the shabad's still point amid the memento-mori: all the greeds are "false" — hollow, unable to deliver what they promise — except the one treasure the soul actually keeps. "The Perfect Guru has given me the Name, which my soul has come to treasure." Against the long list of things that leave (P0, and more to come), this single line names what stays. The shabad is not really about death; it is about choosing well while alive.

A Question to Sit With

Of everything you're chasing, which one thing would you still want if you could keep only one?
