In plain words

Adore the One day and night, my dear — don't put it off even for a moment.

Serve good people with real trust, and lay your pride and stubbornness down.

The urge not to delay isn't a threat — it's the eagerness of love, which never wants to postpone the good.
The deeper layer

The shabad opens with a warm urgency — "do not delay for a moment." The urgency is not a threat but the eagerness of love, which never wants to postpone the beloved. Alongside adoration comes a practical instruction: "serve the Saints... and set aside your pride and stubbornness." Devotion and humility travel together; the pride that says "later, on my terms" is exactly what keeps the sweetness at arm's length. Put it down, and there is nothing left between you and the joy.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing do you keep telling yourself you'll turn to 'later'? What is the 'later' really protecting?
