In plain words

Palms pressed together, I lay my prayer before my Master, holding the One in mind.

Reaching out a hand, the One lifted me and wiped my wrongs away.

Prayer can be as simple as reaching up — and finding a hand already reaching down to lift and forgive you.
The deeper layer

A shabad of rescue told in the simplest gestures. The devotee prays with "palms pressed together" — the universal posture of humility — and the One responds with a gesture of its own: "giving me His hand." The image is of being reached for and pulled up, the way you'd grab a hand held out to a person who's slipped. And the reaching hand also "erased all my sins" — rescue and forgiveness in a single motion. Prayer here is not a transaction but a hand reaching up meeting a hand reaching down.

A Question to Sit With

When have you reached out for help and found something already reaching back toward you?
