Joy Turned Upward Into Praise Becomes Worship

ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਰਖਿਓ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
harigobind rakhi-o parmaysar apunee kirpaa Dhaar.
The Transcendent Lord, in His Mercy, has preserved Har Gobind.

mitee bi-aaDh sarab sukh ho-ay har gun sadaa beechaar. ||1||
The disease is over, and there is joy all around; we ever contemplate the Glories of God. ||1||

In plain words

In mercy, the One kept Har Gobind safe.

The sickness is over, there is joy all around, and we keep singing the One's glories.

Joy at good news, turned upward into praise, becomes worship — a shared thanksgiving rather than a private relief.
The deeper layer

The verse names the child — "Har Gobind" (Guru Arjan's son, who would become the sixth Guru) — and reports the recovery plainly: "the disease is over, and there is joy all around." It is one of the most tender human moments in the whole scripture: a father's thanksgiving for a healed child, made into a hymn. The response to good news is not to hoard the relief privately but to turn it into praise — "we ever contemplate the Glories of God." Joy shared upward becomes worship.

A Question to Sit With

When something goes right for someone you love, where does your first rush of gladness go?
