Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of the Lotus Feet of the Infinite Lord; he holds fast to their Support. ||5||4||30||

In plain words

Wandering every direction, people cry out, 'Nothing can save us!'

Nanak has come to the shelter of the Infinite One's feet, and holds fast to that support.

Amid a general 'nothing can save us,' faith can be as simple as taking hold of the one support and refusing to let go.
The deeper layer

The close captures a moment of collective despair — "nothing can save us!" — the cry of those who have looked everywhere and found no cure. Against that despair stands one quiet act: taking "the Sanctuary of the Lotus Feet" and "holding fast." The shabad that named the disease so honestly ends not in the despair but in the grip — a person who, amid the general hopelessness, simply takes hold of the one support and does not let go. Sometimes faith is just refusing to release the handhold.

A Question to Sit With

When hope runs thin, what one 'handhold' can you simply refuse to let go of?
