Verse 2 of 5

When Love Is Planted, Remembering Just Flows

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
antar govind jis laagai pareet.
One who enshrines love for God within his mind,
har tis kaday na veesrai har har karahi sadaa man cheet. ||1|| rahaa-o.
never forgets the Lord; he continually chants the Lord's Name, Har, Har, in his conscious mind. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

The one who keeps real love for the One deep inside

never forgets the One. The Name keeps flowing in their mind, all the time.

When love is truly planted in you, remembering isn't a chore — it just keeps flowing under everything you do.
The deeper layer

When love is planted in you, remembering just flows. antar govind jis laagai pareet — the one who holds love for Govind, a name for God, deep inside. That person never forgets. har har karahi sadaa man cheet — they keep the Name in mind all the time.

This is not a hard workout. Think of a song you love. You don't try to remember it. It plays in your head all day.

The opening verse warned about empty repeating. This line shows the opposite: love given a home, where remembering comes easily. The difference is between forcing words and making room for love. This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad.

A Question to Sit With

What do you find yourself thinking of again and again, effortlessly, simply because you love it?
