Their wanting is never filled, and in the end they leave grieving, still empty.
Holiness done for show never fills the person doing it.
Some people carry falseness in their hearts. baahrahu sant kahaahi — on the outside, people call them saints. The verse is aimed at pretending: a holy outside with an empty inside.
What happens to them? No one sends a punishment. Their wanting just never ends. tarisnaa mool na chuk-ee — their thirst is never filled, and they leave sad in the end.
Think of posting photos just to get likes. The likes come, but you still feel empty. Showing off feeds the audience, not the soul. This is a warning about a road that looks good and ends empty. Like the empty chanting in the opening verse, the show cannot fill anyone.
Where might you be tempted to *look* good rather than *be* good — and who is that really for?
