Motion Isn't Progress; Sink to the Still Center

ਭਰਮਾਤਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਨ ਚੂਕਈ ਜਗੁ ਜਨਮਿ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਖਪੰ ॥
bharmaat bharam na chook-ee jag janam bi-aaDh khapaN.
Wandering around, doubt is not dispelled; afflicted by reincarnation, the world is being ruined.

The Lord's eternal throne is free of this affliction; he is truly wise, who takes the Naam as his deep meditation. ||4||

In plain words

Wandering doesn't clear the doubt; caught in the endless circling, the world wears itself out.

The One's eternal throne is free of all this; truly wise is the one who takes the Name as their deep meditation.

Motion isn't the same as progress — the wise one stops circling and sinks into the still center.
The deeper layer

Moving around is not the same as getting somewhere.

Bharmaat bharam na chook-ee — wandering does not clear away doubt. Going place to place, searching and searching, does not settle the heart. Caught in birth after birth, the world wears itself out.

Against all that spinning stands the One's lasting throne. Nothing troubles it. It is a still center in the middle of the turning. Think of the middle of a merry-go-round. The edges whirl, but the center is calm. Then wisdom gets a new meaning. The truly wise person is not the cleverest wanderer. It is the one who takes the Name as their deep practice. They stop circling and rest at the still center.

A Question to Sit With

Where are you mistaking restless motion for real progress? What would 'sinking into the still point' look like?
