In plain words

I lay my prayer before the One who made me.

Serving the teaching, I've gained everything; I keep remembering the sweet Name. In the company of the good my pain is gone. Nanak says: I've become care-free, having found the imperishable wealth of the One.

'Care-free' isn't carelessness — it's the deep peace of one who has found what can never be lost.
The deeper layer

The twenty-first Pauree is a quiet testimony of arrival — "I have become care-free." The Punjabi nichint (care-free) is the fruit of the whole Vaar: the anxieties that drove all the grasping have simply lifted, because "the imperishable wealth" has been found. When you possess what cannot be lost, there is nothing left to be anxious about. Care-free is not carelessness; it is the peace of the securely held.

A Question to Sit With

What worry would simply lift if you truly knew your deepest treasure could never be taken?
