The one taught by the teaching is free right here in this life.
They dodge disaster and shed anxiety. Seeing them, the world lights up; in the company of the humble servants, grime is washed off. There they drink the nectar of the True Name; the mind grows content and its hunger is stilled. The heart full of the Name has its bonds cut. By grace, some rare person earns this wealth.
The fifth Pauree describes jivan-mukti — "liberated in this world," free now, not after death. And it notes the social radiance of such a person: "beholding his Darshan, the world is over-joyed" — a freed heart gladdens everyone around it. Freedom here is not withdrawal but a light others warm themselves at. The mark is contentment: "hunger is satisfied," the restless wanting finally at rest.
Who lights up a room by their sheer contentment? What would it take to be a little more like that?
