Fifth Mehl:
simrat simrat parabh aapnaa sabh fal paa-ay aahi.
Meditating, meditating in remembrance on my God, I have obtained all the fruits.
naanak naam araaDhi-aa gur poorai dee-aa milaa-ay. ||2||
O Nanak, I worship the Naam, the Name of the Lord; the Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Remembering my One again and again, I've gained everything.
Nanak says: I worship the Name; the perfect teaching has joined me to the One.
The instruction is followed by a witness that it works — remembrance really does yield the fruit it promises.
A short testimony of fulfillment — "I have obtained all the fruits." After the instruction of P12, here is the result reported by one who did it: remembrance yielded "everything," and the teaching "united me with the Lord." The pairing is deliberate: the command, then the witness that the command bears fruit. It is offered as evidence, not just exhortation.
