Renounce sexual desire, anger and greed, and burn them in the fire.

As long as you are alive, O Nanak, meditate continually on the True Name. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Let go of craving, anger and greed — burn them up.
As long as you're alive, Nanak says, keep remembering the True Name.
Remembrance is the work of the whole lifespan — to be done now, continually, for as long as there is breath.
A crisp two-line instruction: burn up the three compulsions, and "as long as you are alive," remember. The phrase "as long as you are alive" gives it urgency without fear — remembrance is the work of the whole lifespan, to be done now, while there is life to do it in. Not someday; now, and continually, for as long as breath lasts.
A Question to Sit With
What are you saving 'for someday' that is really meant for now, while you're alive to do it?
