Crossing the stream, my foot does not get stuck - I am filled with love for You.

O Lord, my heart is attached to Your Feet; the Lord is Nanak's raft and boat. ||1||

In plain words

Crossing the stream, my foot doesn't slip — I am full of love for You.

My heart is fixed on Your feet; Nanak says, the One is my raft and my boat.

Love keeps your footing steady on the crossing — you don't slip because your feet are fixed on something solid.
The deeper layer

A short, sure-footed Shalok: love keeps the footing steady even "crossing the stream." The one whose "heart is attached to Your Feet" does not slip on the crossing. This is the Vaar's recurring boat-image made personal — you cross rough water without stumbling not by your own balance but because love has fixed your feet on something solid.

A Question to Sit With

What love keeps you sure-footed when you're crossing something slippery?
