There is One Creator; O Nanak, I do not see any other. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I found what I was searching for — my Beloved took pity on me.

There is one Creator, Nanak says; I see no other.

To truly find the One is to stop seeing a divided world — the long search ends in the sight that there was only ever one.
The deeper layer

A Shalok of arrival and non-dual seeing. The long search ends — "I have found the object of my search" — not by cleverness but because "my Beloved took pity on me": grace, not achievement. And the finding opens into the deepest sight: "There is One Creator... I do not see any other." To truly find the One is to stop seeing a divided world; the search ends in the vision that there was only ever one.

A Question to Sit With

What would it be like to look at everything and everyone and sense one reality underneath?
