The precious gift of his life is redeemed, O Nanak, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||

In plain words

The one who remembers the One while alive is dyed in its love when they die.

Their precious life is redeemed, Nanak says, in the company of the good.

The love you practice in life carries through the final door — a life is either dissolved into dust or redeemed in love.
The deeper layer

The bright answer to P54. To remember while living is to be "imbued with the Lord's Love" even in death — the love practiced in life carries through the final door. "The precious gift of his life is redeemed" — the life is not wasted but fulfilled, and specifically "in the Saadh Sangat," good company. The pair (P54–P55) states the Vaar's core choice plainly: a life can dissolve into dust, or be redeemed in love — and the difference is remembrance, in good company, now.

A Question to Sit With

What love are you practicing now that you'd want to carry with you all the way through?
