Nanak: You, O Lord, conceal my short-comings and dwell within my mind; You are my true friend. ||2||

However bad my ways, still Your love for me isn't hidden.
Nanak says: You cover my shortcomings and live in my mind; You are my true friend.
Real friendship covers your faults rather than cataloguing them — and the One's love doesn't wait for your record to be clean.
One of the tenderest Shaloks in the Vaar. The speaker names his own failings honestly — "no matter how evil my ways" — and finds that the One's love is undiminished: "You conceal my short-comings." This is grace as friendship: not a judge cataloguing faults but a friend who covers them and stays. The confession is safe because the love was never conditional on the record being clean.
A Question to Sit With
What would it be like to bring your worst honestly to something whose love for you doesn't flinch?
