My mind, act in the way that pleases the One.
Become the lowest of the low, the least of the small, and speak with deep humility.
Claiming the lowest place frees you from the exhausting competition for the highest — and it's where grace pools.
The Pause line gives a startling instruction: "become the lowest of the low, the very least of the tiny." This is the raag's radical humility — not a crushing of self-worth, but a deliberate stepping down out of the ego's constant jockeying for position. The one who claims the lowest place is free of the exhausting competition for the highest, and closest to the ground where grace pools.
A Question to Sit With
Where might deliberately taking the lower place actually free you rather than diminish you?
