While sleeping and waking, Nanak sings the Lord's Name, Har, Har, Har; he falls at the Guru's feet. ||2||8||

In plain words

The greatest wrongs and countless pains and sicknesses are destroyed by Your glance of grace.

Waking and sleeping, Nanak sings the Name and falls at the teaching's feet.

A single glance of grace can clear what years of trouble accumulated — and the remembering runs even through sleep.
The deeper layer

This line says one kind look from the One can heal what years of trouble built up.

The verse puts two things side by side. First is grace: parabh darisat tuhaaree haatay — by Your glance, God, the biggest wrongs and millions of pains and sicknesses are taken away. Here the Name works like medicine.

Second is remembering that never stops. Sovat jaag — sleeping and waking, Nanak sings Har, Har, Har, a name for the One. Even sleep does not break the remembering. It is like a song you love that keeps playing softly in your head all day and all night.

Think of a room that has been dark for years. Flip on one light, and the dark is gone at once. It does not matter how long it was dark. That is how the glance of grace works.

A Question to Sit With

What would a single 'glance of grace' clear for you? What burden would you love lifted at once?
