Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is the nearest of the near.

Remember it, dwell on it, sing its praises — day and night, morning and evening.

The One is the nearest of the near — you don't travel to reach it, you only keep remembering it's already here.
The deeper layer

The Pause line states the raag's most comforting fact: the One is "the nearest of the near" — not far off to be reached by a long journey, but closer than anything. Since it is so near, the practice is simply constant turning toward it — "day and night, evening and morning." You do not travel to reach the nearest thing; you only keep remembering it is there.

A Question to Sit With

What good is 'nearest of the near' to you — so close you keep overlooking it?
