I have found the gift of the treasure of the Naam, O Nanak; I hug it close, and enshrine it in my heart. ||2||19||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I sing the praises of the imperishable Master and shake off my wrongs.

I've found the gift of the Name, Nanak says; I hug it close and keep it in my heart.

The Name is something to hug close — devotion is affectionate, not austere, a treasure held against the heart.
The deeper layer

The close pictures the Name as something to "hug close" — a treasure held tenderly against the heart, like a beloved keepsake. Devotion here is affectionate, not austere; the Name is embraced, cherished, kept near. What you love, you hold close.

A Question to Sit With

What do you 'hug close' and keep near your heart? Is it what you most want there?
