Says Nanak, listen, O people: He dwells upon the tongues of the Saints. ||2||1||2||

In plain words

The One is spread through everything, living in every single heart; it is never stained — always spotless.

Nanak says: listen, everyone — the One lives on the tongues of the saints.

The answer dissolves the whole argument: the One is both everywhere AND in every heart — not one or the other. And the truest news of it is found on the lips of good people who love it.
The deeper layer

And here is the answer, and it dissolves the whole debate: the One is "pervading everywhere and dwelling in each heart" — the beyond-or-within argument was a false choice. It is not out there instead of in here, or in here instead of out there; it is both, filling all and within each (the same near/vast synthesis as Devgandhaari Shabad 42). And then the practical, beautiful final answer to "where can I find true news of my Beloved?": "He dwells upon the tongues of the Saints." The truest report of the One is found in the good company — in the words and presence of those who love it. So the soul's opening question ("tell me, tell me!") is answered: go where the Saints are speaking of the One, and there you will hear true.

A Question to Sit With

Could the answer to 'is it out there or in here?' simply be 'both'? And where would you go to hear the truest word about what's good?
