O Lord, make me Your own; O God, Lord and Master, I have hurried to Your side. ||3||

In plain words

O One, let me meet the humble, holy ones; keep me in the shelter of the good.

Make me your own; I have hurried to your side.

Once you glimpse how precious the real thing is, you can't get to it fast enough — and what you most want is to belong, and to stay near the good people who keep it in view.
The deeper layer

A short, breathless verse — "I have hurried to Your side" (dhaa-i aa-i-aa, I came running). There is urgency in it, the eagerness of someone who has glimpsed the jewel's worth and now cannot get to the source fast enough. And the one request is, again, for company — "let me meet the holy, keep me in the Sanctuary of the good." Having seen the treasure, the seeker wants to be near the people in whose light it stays visible (Sat Sangat). The prayer "make me Your own" is the deepest belonging-wish: not just to visit the One, but to be claimed by it.

A Question to Sit With

When you finally see how good something is, do you feel that eagerness to run toward it? What's worth running toward?
