Every trace of doubt has been eradicated, remembering God in meditation. I have applied the ointment of spiritual wisdom, and awakened from my sleep. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have no one else to hold me up; I am Your servant, Yours alone. I have given up every other support.

Remembering You, every last trace of doubt is cut away. I have put on the eye-balm of wisdom, and I have woken from my sleep.

Remembering the One is like waking with clear eyes.
The deeper layer

Leaning on the One alone clears away doubt, like waking up with clear eyes.

Mohi anaath daas jan tayraa: I am helpless, Your servant. Avar ot saglee mohi ti-aagee: I have let go of every other support. Bhor bharam kaatay prabh simrat: remembering the One, every trace of doubt is cut. Gi-aan anjan mil sovat jaagee: with the eye-balm of wisdom, I woke from sleep. Anjan is a soothing balm put on the eyes, like drops that let you see clearly again.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel awake and clear inside?
