In plain words

The treasure beyond reach, the gem beyond price: I have received it at the Guru's feet.

Nanak says: the One has become kind to me, and my heart is lost in joy at the sight of the One.

The priceless gem comes as a gift, at the Guru's feet.
The deeper layer

The priceless gem comes as a gift at the Guru's feet, and the heart fills with joy at the sight of the One.

Agam padaarath laal amolaa: the treasure beyond reach, the priceless gem. Bha-i-o paraapat gur charnaarai: received at the Guru's feet. Prabh bha-ay kirpaalaa: the One became kind. Magan bha-ay hee-arai darsaarai: the heart is lost in the sight of the One. Darshan is a blessed sight, like the face of someone you love coming into view after a long time apart.

A Question to Sit With

What is something precious you were given rather than earned?
