Light And Ease At The Sight Of You

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਮਹਾ ਪਰਾਛਤ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਿ ਮਿਟਾਹਿਓ ॥
janam janam kay mahaa paraachhat darsan bhayt mitaa-i-o.
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, the terrible sins of countless lifetimes are erased.
ਭਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਅਨਦ ਉਜੀਆਰਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸਮਾਹਿਓ ॥੧॥
bha-i-o pargaas anad ujee-aaraa sahj samaaDh samaahi-o. ||1||
I am illumined, enlightened and filled with ecstasy. I am intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi. ||1||

In plain words

Seeing You, the heavy wrongs of life after life are wiped away.

Light has dawned in me, bright and full of joy. Easily and naturally, I sink into deep stillness.

One honest turn toward the light can lift a very long weight.
The deeper layer

One sight of the One clears away a very old weight and leaves light, joy and an easy stillness.

Janam janam kay mahaa paraachhat: the great wrongs of many lifetimes. Darsan bhayt mitaa-i-o: wiped away by meeting Your sight. Bha-i-o pargaas anad ujee-aaraa: light, joy, brightness. Sahj samaaDh samaahi-o: absorbed in sahaj, the easy stillness of a heart that has stopped fighting.

Think of opening the curtains in a dark room. Nobody scrubs the darkness away; the light simply fills it.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel light and at ease after carrying something heavy?
