Come And Meet Me, Divine One

ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਨਿ ਏਕ ਨਿਰੰਕੇਰੈ ॥

Let it be your wish to honor and obey the One Formless Lord.

Abandon the love of everything else.
ਕਵਨ ਕਹਾਂ ਹਉ ਗੁਨ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਤੇਰੈ ॥

What Glorious Praises of Yours can I utter, O my Beloved?
ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਏਕ ਟੁਲੇਰੈ ॥
baran na saaka-o ayk lutayrai.
I cannot describe even one of Your Virtues.
ਦਰਸਨ ਪਿਆਸ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮਨਿ ਮੇਰੈ ॥

My mind is so thirsty for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan.

Please come and meet Nanak, O Divine Guru of the World. ||2||1||34||

In plain words

Let your one wish be to honor and follow the One, who has no form.

Let go of the love of everything else.

Which of Your praises can I sing, my Beloved?

I cannot describe even one of Your good qualities.

My mind is so thirsty to see You.

Nanak says: please come and meet me, O Divine Guru of the whole world.

The deepest longing is not to describe the One, but simply to be with it.
The deeper layer

Make the Formless One your one wish, and let the thirst to meet the One fill your heart.

Mansaa maan ayk nirankayrai: let the one wish be to honor the Formless One. Sagal ti-aagahu bhaa-o doojayrai: let go of every other love. Kavan kahaa ha-o gun pari-a tayrai: which of Your praises can I speak, Beloved? Baran na saaka-o ayk lutayrai: I cannot describe even one. Darsan pi-aas bahut man mayrai: my mind is so thirsty to see You. Mil naanak dayv jagat gur kayrai: come and meet me, Divine Guru of the World. Kaanraa's thirst becomes a warm invitation.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you long to spend time with, more than to talk about?
