Servant Nanak takes the Support of the One Lord God; through the One, he obtains honor and salvation. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I am in love with the One and only; the One alone fills my thoughts.
Nanak says: the One is my only support. From the One comes my freedom and my honor.
One love, one support, one place the whole heart rests.
Love the One, lean on the One, and freedom and honor both come from there.
Pirharhee is a tender word for love, the kind you feel for someone dearest to you. Ik adhaar: one support, like the one strong post that holds up a whole tent. Gat pat: freedom and honor, both flowing from that One.
