In plain words

Deep inside the one who turns toward the Guru there is peace; mind and body rest in the Naam.

That person thinks of the Naam, reads the Naam, and stays lovingly tuned to the Naam.

Finding the treasure of the Naam, worry melts away.

Meeting the True Guru, the Naam springs up inside, and all hunger and thirst go.

Nanak says: soaked in the Naam, you gather the Naam into your lap.

When the Name soaks all through you, worry and craving quietly go.
The deeper layer

When you turn toward the Guru, the Naam fills you with peace and worry melts away.

Saant is peace, and antar is deep inside. Chintaa ga-ee bilaa-ay: worry melts away like ice in the sun. Trisnaa bhukh: thirst and hunger, the itch of always wanting more, goes quiet.

Naamo palai paa-ay: the Naam is gathered into the lap. In the old days people carried what they bought in a fold of their cloth. Here what you carry home is the Naam itself.

A Question to Sit With

What quiets the restless, “I want more” feeling inside you?
